Choosing truth over comfort
Being alive means facing challenge
If you can't accept your shortcomings, you can't celebrate your brilliance.
If you reject your weakness, you'll reject your strength.
Resisting that which you disown within you (fear-based response) locks you into a potentially perpetual dynamic. You're not actually battling anything; you're cowering away and letting things fester.
Compassionately seeing and accepting all of what you are (love-based response) cultivates clarity, courage, growth. You're not slaying your demons; you're giving them a seat at the table and having a transformative exchange with them.
Living like this isn't always easy, but it's worthwhile. Life is empty when we allow ourselves to be governed by the need to never feel uncomfortable.
Would you rather be "comfortable” but afraid, or exposed yet alive? You can't have both. One leads to stagnation, the other to growth.
We're only ever on one of these two paths. Everything we do contributes to either a deepening awakening, or deeper sleep.
