We're all the same
The extraordinary beauty of the ordinary
Back when I "embarked on my spiritual journey" I distinctly remember enjoying the feeling of being special, counter-cultural, more awake than the sleeping masses around me.
What an alienating perspective.
Years later, I came to an actual spiritual epiphany through immersion in life, connection to those around me - not through differentiation and detachment.
It's so much more fulfilling - and true - to recognize your fundamental at-oneness with those around you.
We're all doing our best to get by. We're all seeking connection, love, meaning.
Recognizing yourself as ordinary is extraordinary. It dissolves the need to assert yourself over others. It removes the fear of being surpassed.
It doesn't mean you agree with everyone all the time, or condone uncondonable behavior. It doesn't mean you become a directionless deadbeat.
It means you see us all as a team that you're a part of. You cheer us on and play your heart out for us in the spirit of collective success.
